Around The Garden – April 2015

The Garden is still looking worse for ware after the winter and my lack of attention,  There has been little colour so far this spring, something I must rectify ready for next year.
One of the few flowers in the garden is the Piris in the Central border.
There are clumps of forget me nots all over the

garden.  These will need to be selectively removed in order to tidy  the garden.  There are still relatively few plants in the borders so the weeding has to be kept on top of .  My period of inactivity therefore has turned it into a jungle even over the winter,

The Rockery is looking really over grown and in need of some urgent TLC.  This will be one of the first jobs of this month.  Believe it or not there are still plants hidden in there waiting to burst free.
My poly tunnel wasn’t cleared out at the end of the last year and is in need of a real clear out. My intention is grow a few unusual types of tomatoes this year, I hope to replace it with a greenhouse next year,
A row of Sweet Williams planted last year are set at the side of the poly tunnel.  These will hopefully provide plenty of cut flowers later in the year.  I need to weed between them and then feed them.

We moved into this house in 2013. At that time the garden was a blank canvas, This blog is a scrapbook of my gardening journey. Something I can look back on and remember the highs and lows, something that perhaps other people will enjoy reading and hopefully commenting on along the way.
