The Shed Roof

Whilst visiting a Woodford Park Garden Center this morning. Elaine and I saw this shed with the planted roof.  It looks like a great use of space and certainly would look attractive if planted correctly.  Perhaps with trailing plants running over the side as in a hanging basket.  But would it dry out too quickly and how would it drain?  The wooden frame appeared to be attached directly to the roof so the soil was sat directly on the felt.

I guess the only way to find out is to try it.  Whats there to loose?  Ruin the felt and have to replace it?  I suppose the shed could collapse.  With me inside.

We moved into this house in 2013. At that time the garden was a blank canvas, This blog is a scrapbook of my gardening journey. Something I can look back on and remember the highs and lows, something that perhaps other people will enjoy reading and hopefully commenting on along the way.
